This is a short tutorial on how to FTP using FireFTP, a free add-on tool for the free browser Firefox. You can get Firefox HERE. You can get FireFTP HERE. Once you've downloaded each program, you will need to install Firefox first. Then you will need to install FireFTP.
This tutorial is not going to cover all the issues you can encounter, like variations in the individual information required by your server. However, it will give you enough basic information that you know how to operate the program.
1. Once you have installed both programs, open Firefox. Click the Tools menu, then chose FireFTP.
2. It will bring you to this screen. You will see a bar, which says "Create Account". Click on it and it brings you to the next screen.
3. This brings up your account manager screen. In your account manager type the name of your account with your host. In this case, the name of the account is demonstrationsite, all lower case and no capitals because that's what I called the site when I set up the subdomain.
My host is ftp.sublimesims.net
My login is demonstrationsite@sublimesims.net
My password is the password I entered when I set the subdomain up.
You will need to check with your own host to find out what your own ftp address, login, and password is.

4. Flip to the connection tab.
In the connection tab, tick passive mode. Click the "Remote" directory so it has the forward slash ( / ).
5. Flip to the connection tab and type your ftp address in the host tab. Now click "OK".
6. Now back on the main screen, with your account name selected, click "Connect".
7. Click "Browse" (see where I have circled on the picture) to find the directory your files are located in. Navigate to where the files are on your computer that you want to upload.
8. Once you have found exactly the right folder, click "OK".
9. Highlight the files you need to upload and then click the green "upload" button (a green arrow pointing to the right) in the middle of the program.
10. Success! Your files are uploaded to their remote location and you have successfully learned to FTP with FireFTP!
Enjoy!
